Have you ever observed professional athletes? What they do does not seem like work to any of us. Yes, practice sessions are serious, but they are also fun. For soccer players, a scored goal generates great joy for the team and yet they get paid. You could argue they get paid for having fun.
What about network marketing? When you prospect for new business, do you go out with an objective of getting people? There is no fun in that. The problem with this approach is people can feel it if they are wanted that way. They feel hunted and therefore run. A perfect alternative is going out to make friends. This must be your everyday and all-the-time routine. Speak to people with a view of creating lasting friendships. Friends will join your business. If they don't, you have nothing to lose. You will still have new friends. It might not be the right time for them, but your friendship will allow your friends to see your progress.
Go to the marketplace, i.e. where people are, to create those friendships. Remove the concept of prospecting and avoid unnecessary stress, instead focus on creating relationships. Start today and talk to people. In the near future I will talk about what to say to people you have never met before and when it is the right time to talk about your business.
Your comments are welcome. Let me know if you get any success with this approach.
